Anemia.

New poem.

You won’t want me long
chills protruding from under your warm digits
The lightest of Chicago winds send shivers down my spine
and into you like an electric shock of sheer melancholy
I want to hide in the shell of my cold exterior
sink into 37 Celsius
and sleep the frost off this sullen disconnection
I’ve been so delinquent in affection.
Please forgive my distance
and know you still fill my void
